A feel good song for troubling times. written in 2016 on our first tour this song encapsulates our life on the road, but we didn't finalize the structure till the end of 2020.
lyrics
It was mid July, the Sun was high, but we were getting down, down low
Out in New Orleans, with boonie Bayou Queens, we let the fire glow.
Riots in the city, such a pity, how'd we get so lost?
The worst events, bring out the best of men, but tell me what's the cost?
But if you look around, you'll see that love can be found...
Out in the warm days, and those hot nights,
Out in the warm days, and those hot nights make you feel alright.
I said the warm days, and those hot nights,
I said the warm days, and those hot nights make you feel alright.
I met a man down under a streetlight, who said don't worry when the heat comes.
That hot wet air if you can bear, is where the funk comes from. Hit it!
Now remember when I tell you son everything will be alright.
'cause when it's darkest outside, you know that's when you, that's when you see the light
Aww when you see the light
So if you look around, and keep your head up off the ground...
Out in the warm days, and those hot nights,
Out in the warm days, and those hot nights make you feel alright!
I said the warm days, and those hot nights,
I said the warm days, and those hot nights make you feel alright!
Now when it comes, are you gonna let it in, with arms wide open?
We can fix this, oh but first we gotta know that we're broken yea!
It was mid July, the moon was high, and it shone so bright.
The misty trees, the summer breeze, lightning bugs dancing in the night.
These memories I hold on to so tight.
When they glow, they let me know, exactly what we need to fight for.
And if we look around, we'll see that love can be found...
Out in those warm days, and those hot nights,
I said the warm days, and those hot nights will make you feel alright!
I said the warm days, and those hot nights,
I said the warm days, and those hot nights will make you feel alright!
I said the warm days, and those hot nights
I said the warm days, and those hot nights will make you feel alright!
I said the warm days, and those hot nights,
I said the warm days, and those hot nights, and those hot nights!
Yea yea!
